Teatro Kismet OperA was established in Bari in 1981 as a children’s theater company by young actors from a university acting school directed by Carlo Formigoni.
The name ‘Kismet’ means ‘happy destiny’ in Sanskrit.
In 1989, the theater inaugurated its own venue in a repurposed industrial warehouse, emphasizing its vision of theater as an artistic workshop and cultural hub.
Over the years, Teatro Kismet has become a center for Italian and international artists, integrating various art forms such as writing, painting, video, photography, and music.
